Jazz Standards for Catie’s Ballet Class est un ensemble d’arrangements pour piano de Bruno Lawrence Raco destinés à l’entraînement au ballet, tirés de standards de jazz et du Great American Songbook.

L’album est dédié à Mme Catie Wells, qui a sélectionné le répertoire et structuré le cours. Bruno Raco a arrangé et interprété les versions pour piano destinées au studio.

L’enregistrement suit le déroulement complet d’un cours de ballet, de l’échauffement à la barre jusqu’au grand allégro, à la coda et au port de bras. Cole Porter, Gershwin, Ellington, Jobim, Irving Berlin et Rodgers & Hart sont ici mis au service de la danse : pliés, tendus, ronds de jambe, fondu, combinaisons de valse, pirouettes et sauts.

Pour les professeurs, les élèves et tous ceux qui recherchent une musique élégante et adaptée au studio.
